Made Crazy with Hair Bows

Making Hair Bows
My Story
I am a mom of 5, two of those children are girls, ages 8 & 9. They love to play dress up and do fun things with their hair. The problem is most of the inexpensive hair bows are made poorly and the ones that are made nicely are too expensive. We have also had the “fun” of going store to store trying to find the right color, the right size, the right weight, etc. Oh and then once we found the right one(s) wouldn’t you know they ended up lost somewhere? I got to the point where I refused to buy them anymore. I was frustrated and downright crazy over it all!
Truly, I don’t like to be a grump or a grouch. Eventually, I decided to give in and buy some more. Lucky for me, I stumbled across a way to make my own. I found a video online that introduced me to making basic hair bows. All I needed was a few simple tools. I was pleasantly surprised. I already had ribbon, glue, a measuring tape and scissors. So, that was the start of making my own hair bows.
Now, I am free to make any kind I want. I can make them simple or fancy. I can make small, light-weight ones. Or, if I want, I can make larger ones. I can use the color schemes I want and customize them any way I can think of doing; I let my creativity flow.
On top of that, now I can make them as gifts for other girls. My girls can give a gift bag full of pretty hand-made hair bows that only cost me a fraction of the latest “fad” toy. And, if I want to, I can even make a gorgeous bow for the gift bag (or box) too! I don’t have to deal with the malls or department stores. I really like that! I’m just NOT a fan of shopping.
I took one little video and started something really cool. And, I found out later that the woman who did that video provides a whole course with a manual too. It turns out that making hair bows is not only easy and fun, but a great way for people to make money too. So many people are out there now making their own special hair bows to sell at craft shows, fair, boutiques and hair salons.
Oh and PS: I’m not crazy anymore. *LOL* I actually look forward to making hair bows for my girls AND their friends! Oh and any other way I can find to dress up something with a bow!
